cny
happy chinese new year!! :D it's so hard to believe that today's already monday! i kept thinking that today's sunday.
17 feb, saturday
i went to help my grandma today! (: boy, i never know that so much work had to be done to prepare for the reunion dinner. after a long and tiring afternoon, i went back home to take a shower before returning for the actual reunion dinner. i waited a freaking long time for the bus to come! and i'm the only one at the bus stop. :/
dinner was the same. eating and talking. then my uncle and i talked about studies and he taught me a new term - "professional students". HA.
and we didn't sleep straight after we went home. watched soccer (:
18 feb, sunday
woke up late today. and it felt a little different from previous CNY-s. my parents left for my grandma's house with the curries and bee-hoon first. they cooked. we left the house at 11am. normally by 10, we are out of the house.
the morning group had already left. so when we went there, there were only about 4 or 5 people there. but people were streaming in. two of my favourite cousins were gone by the time we reached. but there's two more lah. (: cute nicolas and geraldine. but they left when their mother again. poor darlings, their parents are divorced. :(
but soon, two of my OTHER cousins came. and i got a new favourite!! she's just 11 months old! and she loves to talk, in a language we don't understand. but when i was playing with her, she said "bear! bear!" :)))) i'm so proud. haha. she uber cute can! haha. i've grown more childish with her lahh. pretty little thing.
then after my two uncles with my two cousins left, the house was left with the grown-ups and my brothers and my male cousin. they were playing a game. but i kept losing, and i don't want to play anymore. :P
time passed. then at night, my grandaunt and 'gang' called. then my aunt and i rushed out to buy chocos. cos my grandma want to give them chocos as 'door gifts'. and we went to all the nearby 7-eleven-s. but it was all sold out! finally we found them at the 7-eleven at northpoint.
omg. at one point, my grandma's house was filled with people lor! and a group of them are people i've never met before!
let me start from the beginning.
when joel and his family came, we sat one side and talked. then people were coming in and we kept standing up and shaking hands and greeting. then came a group of people i never met before. i thought they were relatives i never met before or seldom meet. so i asked joel. and he got go idea too. and i asked my dad, but he don't know too! so it's like a group of strangers in my grandma's house. in the end, we found out it's my grandaunt's, aunty pauline's sister and brother and their families. they didn't give ang baos. grrrr. but a little while later they left. later, when everyone left, my uncle and father commented, "anyhow come into people's house without introduction."
we took family photos. then we took one generation by generation. i'm in the 3rd and youngest generation. HA. oh oh, i'm going to have another cousin soon. haha.
yesterday's gathering was great lah. normally i would not have talked. but today we chatted, and took photos. and, i finally know some people i never really know, or heard their names once every year.funny lah, we only know each other better as we grow older. shouldn't it be the other way round? knowing people when you are younger?
bleh. i'm going out later, in the evening. so boring!
